Hot weather in the the Pacific Northwest!

Enjoying a little sun in Portland.

The trail ends, unless you are going swimming!
This is the bridge over the Columbia River Gorge on our way back from visiting Spokane.

Oliver playing with his buddy Simeon.

On the way to Spokane we saw this dust devil, it was pretty neat to see.

4th of July Weekend

We started the celebration with swimming and BBQ in the backyard.

The water was a little to cold for Oliver's taste.
Oliver pulls himself up on everything and anything he can.
Look close or click on the picture to get an up close of his two front bottom teeth...still the only teeth he has! This was walking in the quaint town of Port Gamble.
Oliver's partner's in crime...Grayson, Auden & Jonah eating smores before fireworks.
This was the sunset just before we started the fire crackers. A gorgeous sunset in the Pacific Northwest.
The local action gets started with the Port of Tacoma fireworks in the background.
Gabe and Wynn getting it a little too close...
Mom's birthday celebration...July 8th!

Boating Excursion

Our friend Lance took Gabe and I on a really fun excursion on his boat last Friday! We had such a great time! We went acoss the sound to Gig Harbor where we had dinner. This is a picture of Lance teaching Gabe to drive the boat.
Behind me is a great view of Mt. Rainer.
Gabe just kicking back living the dream!

My Dad's New Career...

For those of you who know my dad, you probably know that he has had a knack for writing that he's never used as a means for income. Well that is starting to change. He has recently become prolific about his writing and is working to get published. Making a name for yourself and getting things published is pretty competitive but we are confident that his writing is superb enough that the right person will notice eventually!

Check out his blog for yourself, read a few pieces, become a follower by clicking the link and if he happens to write a piece you like, email it to your friends! Help spread the word and enjoy his musings along the way. This is his link:

Stop in DC on way home...

We had a layover in DC/ Fairfax on the way home from Pittsburgh and were able to make a weekend of it so we visited my good friend Jenny Dillon-Tobin! Jenny and her husband Jim just had a baby girl, Andrea Ann, she is so precious and petite! We had been to DC before to see the monuments and museums but we did to see the World War II as well the Jefferson which we missed last time.

We also went to Great Falls National Park, played a little basketball and were treated to Jim's mastery of the grill on a beautiful evening on the deck with a few cold brews! The Tobin's are great hosts and we had so much fun visiting and spending time with Andi!

See the Great Falls behind us, this is the Potomac River.

Oliver's first visit to the White House!

The Tobin's!

Ollie and Andi just hanging out!

Trip to Pittsburgh

We just got back from a trip to Pittsburgh, PA to visit our Pirtek Mentors Matt and Kathy Valkovic. We had a great trip and got some great ideas for the business. We also got to do a few fun things while we were there. Matt and Kathy took us to a really fun German bar/ restaurant in downtown Pittsburgh on the Monongahela River. They had great German beer and music.

On our last night there, Gabe and I went back downtown and rode this old cable car that used to be used for mining up a big hill. It is called the Duquesne Incline and when you get to the top there is a great view of downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is a beautiful city and we really had a wonderful time there.
This is Matt and Kathy the owners of Pirtek Monroeville and our mentors.
This was a business trip for Oliver too, he reads the Money section in the morning just like his dad!
